Rockin Naturals You May Not Know But Should: LeLahni

My name is LeLahni Johnson, I am 20 years old, and I live in Carson, California. I am a full-time student, and a receptionist at my university. I have been natural for about 5 years now.
What or Who inspired you to go natural? Did you bc or transition?
-When I was in middle school, curly hair was not in. I used to get made fun of because my hair was so big and poofy so I straightened it ALL THE TIME. I straightened it so much my hair no longer had any curl whatsoever. When I was in 10th grade I got tired of it always being straight because there was only so much I could do with it.. so I cut my hair (waist long i might add :/) a little above my shoulders and started taking good care of it from there.
Top three products and prices.
1.  L’Oreal EverCurl Shampoo and Conditioner, for when the moneys a little tight. They are $6 bucks a bottle at Target. The shampoo was a big deal for me because most shampoos dry my hair our pretty bad and its not until I put in conditioner that I am able to run my fingers through, but with this shampoo, it makes my hair SO soft and easy to manage.
2. Carol’s Daughter Monoi Repairing Hair Mask, $32 online. Its a bit more pricey but it took my dry, brittle hair and revived my curls and made my hair so soft.
3. 6 n 1, about $14 for a big bottle. It is literally 6 in 1, moisturizer, sheen, detangler, conditioner, curl activator, wave revitalizer. I apply it root to tip on damp hair and it is good to go all day. I’ve been using this product since, well forever, Before I damaged my hair, and as soon as my curls started coming back.

If you had to give your hair a name what would it be?
Well I haven’t really given it any thought. I just call it my mane.
Have you ever tried hair shadowing? Deep Conditioning Color? Splat washables?
I haven’t but I’d like to try it!
If you hair is colored what do you use to do so?
Right now my hair is Golden Brown, and I use Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Color.

Frustrating, Gratifying, Beautiful
Any advice to the natural newbies?
If I can give any advice it is to be patient! Also, everyones texture and curl pattern is different, thats what makes your hair unique, so love and embrace it! As far as tips go, make sure that you really tend to your hair, keep it detangled, KEEP IT MOISTURIZED, and use protective styles when you can. Try to avoid products with sulfates and alcohol in them. Some products others use may not work for you and thats okay, don’t be afraid to experiment! Use a t-shirt to dry your hair instead of a towel to avoid frizz, and also, if you ever need hair care ideas or different styles to try, youtube has a bazillion tutorials if you don’t know that already, lol.
What was favorite compliment someone has ever given you on your hair?
Any compliment I receive on my hair means a lot to me. I really appreciate them all.
If you could only watch one natural hair vlogger on youtube who would it be? why?
Oooh, this is a hard one, I think I’d have to go with sunkissalba. Our hair textures are somewhat alike and her hair care videos have definitely come in handy!
I Rock My Natural because
my natural is BEAUTIFUL.. I came a long way from being embarrassed of my curls to completely embracing them. They define me.
