Rockin Naturals You May Not Know But Should: Diamond
Raleigh NC, moved to New York
Stylist at BCBG/ Model/ Actress
What or Who inspired you to go natural? Did you bc or transition?
It will be a full year April 29th that I went through with “the BIG CHOP”
My boyfriend’s cousin is actually the person that inspired me to become natural. Seeing how healthy her hair became with no chemicals and heat!
What are your current hair goals?
Hair Goals: I’d really to see how long and big my hair goes out. I am seriously in love with big fro’s!
Top 3 products and prices.
I use Shea Moistures Curling Enhancing Smoothie($10.99) Jane Carter’s “Nourish & Shine”($17.99) (which is amazing for the body as well!!) and sometimes I use Eco Styling Argon Oil Gel (3.99)
Is there a product you have used that you would NEVER use again? Why?
I honestly can’t say, although I’ve tried almost everything, lol. I would just have to say that I’m content with what I’m using now. I just found something that works for me!
Do you have a favorite go to hairstyle?
I can’t really say that I have a favorite yet because I’ve only accomplished two styles by myself lol, which is the wash n go and twistout! But out of the two I always go to the Wash n Go!
How do you protect you hair at night?
I’m so lazy so I barely wear a head scarf lol. I do however whenever I wash my hair at night
If your hair is colored what do you use to do so?
I used to use Dark and Lovely, to me it made my hair brittle 🙁 so I recently switched it up to Shea Moistures Hair Color! It’s amazing! Favorite thus far
Sum up your natural hair journey in three words.
3. Worth it. Wouldn’t trade it!
Advice to Natural Newbies: do not give up, yes it is a trial but the journey is something that comes with maturity and acceptance. It is growth! You have to accept your hair and grow with it.
What is your favorite compliment you have ever been given on your hair?
“Your hair is so beautiful!” I receive a lot but beautiful stands out. Knowing and hearing that MY NATURAL hair is “beautiful”, without using the creamy crack (no offense to my other ladies) lol, makes me smile. In today’s generation, “The Look” is hair extensions, straight hair etc.. It’s nice to know that others can look beyond that
If you could tell your younger self NOW something about your natural hair THEN what would that be?
It would be, “Girl put that Olive Oil perm down and love YOUR hair. If not you then who else?”
Do you have a favorite YouTube Vlogger?
I don’t have a fav, but I do keep my eyes on @ColouredBeautiful, @SadoraParis, and @ItsMyRayeRaye!
Finish this sentence:
I Rock My Natural because I am proud and love my Kinks!
Keep Rockin Diamond!!
