Rockin Naturals You May Not Know But Should: Cristina

 Introduction
My name is Cristina, or Crisdacat, Im 22 and I live in Fort Lauderdale, FL. I currently work three jobs (Lord, Jesus help me, but it keeps me busy), I am Head of Marketing for a local Law firm, I am Editor In Chief of DaDecipher.com, my music blog, and I am a radio personality on excitementradio.com on Tuesdays at 7pm.
I’ve been single for almost 3 years! May 2015 will be my 3 year mark.

What or Who inspired you to go natural? Did you bc or transition?
Honestly, I was just jealous of girls who can go curly to straight at the blink of an eye. My relaxed hair looked like over cooked spaggetti when wet and no matter how much gel I thought would make it curl, it never did. I transitioned for 14 months and then went to my hair stylist to chop it all off.
What are your current hair goals?
Currently, I would like my hair to be the same length as my relaxed hair.  Unfortunally, I don’t have a horrid relaxer story. My hair grew long and “strong” and didn’t break off much at all. I just want my natural hair to be at my boobs straightened just as my relaxed hair.

Do you have a favorite go to hairstyle?
Currently they are braid outs. It’s funny because when I was transitioning, my hair LOVED THEM. Until about 4 months ago… my hair hated them. Now, Braid outs are life.
How do you protect you hair at night?
Depends on how did my braid out. If I blow dried it straight, I will do a pineapple and sleep on a satin scarf that I draped over my pillow.
If I did the braid out on wet hair, I will pineapple and bonnet to smush it a little (weird I know) so I have a reason to pick it out extra in the morning. The bigger the better.

Do you have a name for your hair or If you had to give your hair a name what would it be?
LOL I actually don’t. I used to call it little frizzy when I was transitioning.
If your hair is colored what do you use to do so?
My hair is purple 😀
I used ion color brilliance colors from sallys. I mixed all of the “fuchsia” with half of “purple” and added a cheap condish.

Sum up your natural hair journey in three words.
Totally worth it
Any advice to the natural newbies?
Your hair is growing every day… I promise it is. You may not think it is, but its growing, I promise.
What is your favorite compliment you have ever been given on your hair?
I love your hair color!

If you could tell your younger self NOW something about your natural hair THEN what would that be?
Moisturize, Moisturize, moisturize.  It is something I was lazy on and I feel if I did it more then, my hair would be a lot softer, not as dry and easy to manage.
Do you have a favorite YouTube Vlogger?
Between Mahogany Curls and Natural Neicey
