Natural Rockers You May Not Know But Should: Bianca
1. Tell me a little about yourself.
Name: Bianca Bell
Location: Fayetteville, NC
Occupation: Nail Technician
Years Natural: almost 3 years (wore an even all over cut for 9 months)
Etc: I’m pretty simple when it comes to my personal style. You’ll usually catch me in a tee and jeans. I consider myself somewhat eclectic. I like to find beauty in objects others may find “ugly”. I love nature & all things vintage.
2. What or Who inspired you to go natural? Did you bc or transition?
I BC’d. I just couldn’t take it anymore! I was so over the maintenance relaxers consisted of. I had been itching to know I what I’d look like bald, so I went for it. I loved it so much I kept a haircut for 9 months before growing it out.
3. Top three products and prices.
*Any brand of Organic Unrefined Coconut Oil (prices range depending on stores). If you’re lucky, you may find some at TJ Maxx or Marshalls for $6.
*DevaCare’s No-Poo & One Condition ($19.95-$39.95).
*African Pride Olive Miracle Leave-in Conditioner ($2.87)
4. Fave go to hairstyle.
I love diffusing my hair (I’m too impatient for wash and gos). I wish I could wear my afro 24/7, but this summer heat makes me want to pass out, so I stick with my pouf about 80% of the time. I can’t wait for this weather to cool down…I need my fro!! It’s like my security blanket lol.
5. Have you tried hair shadowing?
I haven’t. I did all the wild colors years back, and now I’m just beginning to enjoy my own natural color…I forgot how pretty it was.
6. Sum up your natural hair journey in three words.
7. Any advice to the natural newbies?
BE PATIENT! It may seem a little rocky at first, but I promise you that it’s worth it. Experiment with different products, but keep in mind that less is best. In the meantime find a YouTuber with the same hair type as you, and follow their regimen until you create your own. 🙂
