~My Current Staple Products~
You know how most of us natural ladies have tons of products both on and under our sinks, But really only have a good 6 you would consider your staple products right now. Here is a list of my current must have staple products.
I will start with my Shampoo and Conditioner. I used to use the Aussie Moist Shampoo and Condish and before that I used the Mane and Tail Shampoo and Condish but ever since I tried the Dove Quench Absolute I have been both using and loving it. They cost about $6.99 a piece but they leave your hair feeling and smelling awesome all while retaining moisture in my curls.
I have top 3 deep conditioners I really love right now. Here they are in no certain order:
Motions Treat & Repair Color Care Deep Moisture Masque
This stuff right here is like heaven in a jar for colored natural ladies. It is great to use after you have done a deep conditioning color or after you used temporary color sprays or mousses. It smells really great and when you wash it your coils and curls will really pop! You can pick this up at walmart for around $6.99 a jar..
Aussie Moist 3 Minute Miracle
I feel like this will always be a staple product for me at this point. I use it for a base to my diy deep conditioning and as a base for deep conditioning color. This conditioner is great for my hair and the first conditioner I ever used that when I was wash it out I can see my coils spinning in the water. And on top of that you can find it at some drug stores from $1.99-3.99.
Dove Quench Absolute Intense Restoration Mask
I’ve been using this product for a good two months now and I find it especially good to use after wearing blow outs or rod sets to help your washngo come back with full bounce. It leaves your hair very hydrated, soft and shiny and the smell is awesome too. I pick this up from walgreens for $7.99.
As far as my Leave in Conditioner goes I have been using the same one since the very beginning of my journey.
Cantu Shea Butter Leave In Conditioning Repair Cream
This leave in condish always leaves my hair looking and feeling right. Its like if its not broken don’t fix it. I have tried other leave in conditioners and have had some of them work great for one time I use it and then not so great another but Cantu leave in always works. I use it and will continue to use it simply because it really works for my hair texture. I buy this for around $5.99 from either walmart, CVS or Walgreens.
As far as oils go I only use two.
Trader Joe’s Organic Virgin Coconut Oil
I use the oil not only for my hair but also for oil pulling, cooking, my face and my skin just to name a few. This is a staple not only for my hair but for my home. I get this from Trader Joe’s for $5.99 a jar.
Mielle Organics Mint Almond Oil
This oil is simply amazing for not only your hair but your scalp as well. I love the smell of it and it leave my hair feeling great without feeling oily or weighing my curls down. A little goes a long way and one bottle can last you a really long time. You can pick it up on their website for $13.99. It is well worth the price!
Taliah Waajid Curl Sealer
I love this stuff so much I buy it two at a time because I REFUSE to run out!! It does it all for my curls in a washngo. I apply it and let it sit for about 15 minutes before I diffuse it on low cool and my curls are always soft, defined, bouncy and shiny. I never go wrong with this product. Their curly curl cream worked pretty good in my hair as well but this worked better. I buy it from Kroger for $5.99 a piece.
Cantu Shea Butter Moisturizing Curl Activator Cream
I could never forget about this product. It always come through for me and works great as a way to refresh my curls. Spritz a little coconut oil and water mist on my hair and apply this to refresh 4 or 5 day hair. I pick this up from walmart, cvs, walgreens, sally’s for about $5.99.
Taliah Waajid Hydrating Curl Shine
This is another product that I have really grown to love. Once again a little goes a long way and it works great give a quick pop to your curls in the morning or through out the day. I pick this up from Kroger for about $5.99.
I have tons of other products in my stash that I may use here or there but the above products listed are the ones that always remain current. I can’t say that every product listed above will work the same for your hair as it does for mine but these are the ones that really work for me.
