Deep Conditioning Color: Adore Truly Red

It’s been about a month since I did my last deep conditioning color using the Jerome Russell Rose Wine. I decided to refresh the color with truly red by adore.

image I used the same technique by shampooing my hair and then mixing the mane n tail condish with the adore color and then applying to my hair in four sections. I then covered it with two plastic caps and an old towel and I let the color sit in my hair for 3 hours.

Here are the red hot results:

So far this is my favorite deep conditioning color I have ever done and I think I might just keep this color for awhile…at least a month anyway 🙂 😉

  • Should I wash my hair with shampoo after letting the color sit or will co-washing be ok?

  • Do u think it would work with any conditioner?

  • How do I get stubborn semi permanent hair dye out without damaging my hair or lightening it?

  • Deep Conditioning Color : Adore Truly Red

  • Is there a product similar to Adore that you would recommend? Adore is not sold in my area.

    • naturallytash

You could try splat color as well. But this color is sold with bleach. If you buy the kit simply DON”T use the bleach and just the temporary color that comes with it.

  • Do you think this would work on hair that has previously been hennaed

    • naturallytash

I’ve never dealt with henna so I really don’t know. But if you hair is light in color right now I would say yes!

  • Naturallyspeaking

Do you wash the color after you let it sit in your hair ??????

  • absolutely Luv this technique! Will this work on my locs? Would sitting under the dryer work because locs are so dense ?
    Thanks in advance !

    • naturallytash

I honestly don’t know how this would work on locs but I will say sitting under the dryer would most definility help!

  • Since this is semi-permanent and not temporary will you have to dye your hair back to it’s orginal color to get rid of the color? I’ve never had color in my hair and the word semi-permanent just seems scary.

    • naturallytash

Semi- perm is just another way of saying temporary. It will wash out in about 2 months and no you won’t have to dye your hair back the Orginal color. Check out my post on removing deep conditioning color.

  • Hi!!! So I’ve never colored my hair. It’s naturally dark…almost black. Will I have to bleach my hair before doing this process?

    • naturallytash

I don’t do bleach so there are two methods I know of that can lighten your hair but it won’t happen in one use. The honey and cinnamon treatments will naturally lighten your hair but it may take up to four times to see results. Also you could do the vitamin c and dandruff shampoo method but that will also take a few times to see results. I have posts on both these methods here on the site.

  • How much of the conditioner do I use?

    • naturallytash

      At least a cup

      • Are the instructions different for weaves? Or is it the same as long as its real Brazilian, ect.?

        • naturallytash

I honesty don’t know because I have never tried this process on anything but my natural hair but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work.

      • It’s Beautiful! I have been wanting to know how to use the color and this has me smiling from ear to ear! Thank you!

        • naturallytash

          Your very welcome

          • Did you ever bleach because that really bright or did the adore make it that light

          • naturallytash

No I have never bleached. I used honey and cinnamon treatments to make my hair lighter over time. About a month ago I colored my hair a bronze color and that also helps the color look brighter.
